This year I served as a returning juror for the 99th Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. I had the privilege of reviewing a truly remarkable range of youth poems. The winners will be announced on June 8th in New York.
While I won’t be in attendance due to prior commitments, I wish to express my thanks to all of the wonderful writers who shared their work with us. I was let with a sense of deep hope for the next generation of emerging poets and creators in our community and I look forward to seeing where their journeys take them in the future!
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were founded in 1923 and, for nearly a century, have inspired bold ideas in creative teens throughout the country!
