Interviewed Suzie GeeForce

This week at SPECPO, I interviewed Dr. Suzie GeeForce (aka Susan Gray), an Anglo-Burmese speculative spoken word & theater artist with a background in augmented reality. I think she’ll be a groundbreaking figure in creating a science fiction and fantasy tradition for the Burmese in diaspora.

She’s one to watch as we see a Southeast Asian Speculative Arts movement emerge, along with figures like Zen Cho, Aliette de Bodard, Jaymee Goh, Joyce Chng, Kristine Ong Muslim, Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay, Do Nguyen Mai, Christina Sng, Cambodian Space Project, S.P. Somtow, Jenna Le, Nor Sanavongsay, Paolo Chikiamco, Vince Gotera, and many others.

Be sure to check out the interview and visit her at and elsewhere to see where she’s taking her work.
