One of my personal favorite books of poetry in 2016 was Jenna Le’s A History of the Cetacean American Diaspora, which received the 2nd place Elgin Award for Book of the Year. A Vietnamese Minnesotan currently living in New England, I interviewed her recently for SPECPO. I look forward to seeing her next book, even as I’m also thinking of a recent Tom Gauld cartoon in that regard:
I’m proud of the journey she’s taking, and watching how much she grows constantly as a fellow poet. Be sure to also catch her interview from a few years back at Lantern Review.
